I did browse the net for some half a day reading various options.Watch the Video Tutorial 4K Display at 60Hz Checklist Also display preferences shows HDR checkbox - after unchecking HDR the colors are ok but of course no HDR so color stripes can easily be observed on a large area gradients. I wonder if HDR is possible in my case on LG 27UN83A with macOS/MBP16 2019Īfter connecting first time using the USB-C I did notice HDR icon on the LG and then the famous "washed colors" / poor contrast image. Is this right? I'm very new to this kind of stuff, so I'm wondering why I haven't experienced this issue with other large TVs that I've used as monitors? I've been lead to believe that the problem is that the macbook is sending a 4:2:0 signal to the TV, and this would be fixed if it were sending a 4:4:4 to the TV. There's a lighter coloured halo around the text that makes it look really blurry and hard to look at. Brightly colored text on white background (like green or blue that you'd have in a coding environment) looks absolutely terrible. Black text on white backgrounds looks fine and plenty crisp. Text looks like garbage, and I'm pretty surprised and disappointed. I have the CX's input on PC mode and I'm using an HDMI 2.0 cable to connect the macbook to the TV via the Apple Multi A/V Adapter (the one that goes USBC to HDMI, USBA and USBC). I have a 16" macbook pro with the 5500M 8GB. Hey so, I just got a 65" CX OLED that I've been using with my MacBook and googling the problem I've been experiencing lead me here. Need to compare what the Apple adapter gives compared to the club-3d adapter.ĤK 120Hz possibilities (assuming 1188MHz): Maybe there's an EDID override that can get that to work. I've only seen HDR get enabled with Apple adapters. You can zip the AGDCDiagnose files and post them here so we can see what's going on.Įven if you get the right color, I don't know if HDR will work. The listedids command will show all the EDIDs (duplicates are grouped together). The files can be loaded by EDIDUtil.sh script using this command loadagdcfile AGDCDiagnose*.txt. The files will show if DSC is enabled or not. System/Library/Extensions/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/Contents/MacOS/AGDCDiagnose -a > AGDCDiagnose_a_port1.txt 2>&1 I've got a script at to help examine and modify EDIDs.įirst, get the connection and EDID info of each port of the display (and also any settings that might modify the EDID) using this command (do it in Catalina and Big Sur change the file name to describe what port and/or setting of the TV it is for): SwitchResX does not have features to override the color info, so you'll have to do it using a different utility. You may need to edit the EDID to get that. If DSC is not working (may be a problem with Big Sur - did you try Catalina?), you should still be able to get 422 10bpc or 420 10bpc. EDID overrides don't work except if you just want to change the display name. UPDATE: I changed the HDMI input to be labeled as PC in the TV's settings, based on further reading, but this didn't offer any benefit.Ĭlick to expand.4K 120Hz possibilities (assuming 1188MHz): The Apple TV seemingly has better display support. I'm at a loss here and confounded by why Apple makes this so difficult. Do I need to mess with SwitchResX in order to get YCbCr 4:4:4 and HDR? I do have deep color enabled for that input on my TV. Is there some sort of plist hack, EDID override, or something that I need to do even to get full YCbCr444? Before I even consider 120Hz, getting the color correct is the first order of business. On the Mac, there's no way to change anything in Display Settings (not the resolution, the refresh rate, the color depth, or HDR), but the scaling. Diagnostics on the LG TV reports it as "YCbCr 4:2:0 10-bit TM". When did Windows become the platform that stuff just works? This same setup works flawlessly with my work PC laptop with Thunderbolt3 outputs. I use a Cable Matters 48Gbps Thunderbolt3 to HDMI 2.1 adapter. My current monitor is the LG 48CX OLED TV, which has HDMI 2.1 inputs and supports w/ 10-bit HDR. I'd be content getting either one of them to work properly. I have both a 16" MacBook Pro and an M1 Mac Mini. And even then there's little discussion about how to actually get it to work beyond the discussion of the theoretical hardware and cable support. A lot of discussion exists on getting 4K 60 or 120Hz with 10-bit HDR and 4:4:4 chroma subsampling (YCbCr444) with an external monitor, but seemingly mostly on the M1 forums.

I already gave my whole “ I want to see emotions!” spiel in the earlier entry, so I won’t reiterate. I came for the tub, I stayed for the expressions. If your Sim feels most comfortable curled up in a bathtub, then let ‘em be. I can appreciate an unconventional resting spot as much as the next person and, hey. So bonus points for an uncommon twist to this pretty common concept. Thousands of Sims would think to hold phone convos on their bed or on the couch. I will argue that the concept is marginally more unique. Like I said earlier plenty of custom phone conversation poses. The model’s expressions are so soft, so cute, and so beautifully unfiltered, you can really feel how comfortable she is talking to whoever’s on the other end.Īnd don’t forget to grab the phone accessory (courtesy to Sims CC creator quiddity)! So that’s why ratboy’s Phone Call Poses won me over. If my Sim is going to cannonball into a pool, scale a cliff face, or parkour their way over a bench, I want to see it on their faces, too. You’re in it for what the body is doing.īut when all the effort goes to how the body looks, it leaves the face looking pretty meh. I’ll be the first to admit that a lot of custom poses turn me off due to the facial expression. However, the expressions in this pack really blew me away. At a grand total of six poses, it’s enough to be called a pack, but it’s pretty low compared to most pose packs that offer upwards of fifteen variations. There aren’t that many options in the pack, either. God knows there are plenty of phone convo poses for the Sims 4 out there. I mean, I get that the concept’s not unique. These poses are on my personal favorites list. If you want to set the scenes right, you’ll need these cute Halloween accessories by BackTrack, of which the creator of this poses had a collab with. (Otherwise you’d just have a guy gesticulating to thin air and a girl cradling nothing.) There are ten all in all, and they all – one way or another – tell a story. So say that loud and say it proud with these pretty spoopy poses by wasabi sims. It’s not so much a holiday as it is a state of being. Halloween Gift 2020 Collab with BackTrack by wasabi simsįor the batty babes, seductive sirens, underworld overlords, and ghoulish guys and gals, Halloween never truly leaves you. And for the poses that require furniture, you’ll also need the ever-dependable Teleport Any Sim mod by scumbabo. So no downloading these and wondering why your Sim is floating in mid-air.Īs always, Andrew’s Pose Player is necessary. I figured I’d separate them from the group just so that it’s clear they need a little something extra to work – be that a bed, a desk, a chair, or a tiny pumpkin cupcake. So these are basically solo shots with props. You won’t really need anything else for these poses to work just the Pose Player and a heckuva spunky attitude.Īnd maybe an appropriately-fiery background. The original poses all have some level of confidence and sex appeal, with maybe a hint of smugness coloring the expressions.īasically perfect for the Sims who know they’re hot. There are 14 original poses in this pack and five default CAS poses (specifically, the poses for the Evil trait). Let your Sim’s face and body do all the talking, because they definitely have a lot to say. Model Poses 19 Posepack and CAS by HelgaTishaįor the sexy, saucy, and downright sassy Sim, these custom poses scream effortless power and natural badassery. But given that these are all independent standalone poses, you won’t need scumbabo’s Teleport Any Sim mod. These offer a variety of positions that your Sim can take without needing any sort of accessories or furniture around them (i.e., chairs, beds, etc.).Īs always, you’ll need Andrew Studio’s Pose Player. These solo poses put them squarely in the limelight (and focus) of the shot. You can definitely have two Kids or two Toddlers (rather than one of each), but do be aware that some of these poses need Sim A to carry Sim B, so… Best to consider the logistics before setting up. There are four poses in this pack, and they’re only for Toddlers and Kids. Whether your Sim’s kids love each other, hate each other, or are absolutely indifferent about each other, you can still score a sweet heartwarming photo of the two.Īll you need is a pose player, a Sim teleporter (all links in the category description), and an absolutely sunny background. To position your Sims correctly (as the poses intend), you’ll need scumbabo’s “Teleport Any Sim” mod. To use these poses, you’ll need to install Andrew’s Pose Player. Grab two or more Sims for a great photoshoot and a good time. Custom poses that look weird and slightly out of context if there’s only one Sim doing them. The latter also came with a large bowl, a small bowl, an extra grommet for keeping each piece in place, a silicone pull tab, and two downstems (in case of inevitable accidents).Ĭompared to past pieces I’d had - which admittedly, were bought in less classy manners - the Session Goods set did make for an elegant collection. Unboxing the collection, which comes in classy matte black boxes, reveals the black Designer Pipe in a silicone carrying case and the black Designer Bong with a protective silicone footer. Session Goodsįor starters, that $250 bundle includes everything you’d need to light up, sans the actual raw product. The full packaging for Session Goods’ Designer Bong. And what the hell makes it ‘designer’ other than a sleek, minimalist silhouette? Starter pack Certainly not worth the bundle price of $250. How good could a bong or pipe possibly be? I thought. So when Session Goods asked if I wanted to try its “classy” bong and pipe, I was hesitant. Bongs weren’t worth the hassle to me, especially when under the influence. Most water bubblers (as your parents or hipster friends may call a bong) also boast poor design, making them fragile and hard to look at. Bongs, on the other hand, delivered a stronger high for me at the cost of nearly coughing up a lung, a price not worth paying considering most of my smoking is to relieve pain, not cause it. There’s no rolling involved, and a pipe is about as portable as a glass piece can get. In college, I did enjoy smoking out of a pipe. Like most weed smokers, ease and comfort are my top priorities. Instead, I lean towards joints (portable), edibles (potent), and topicals (powerful enough to treat my chronic pain). While I consider myself a regular toker, I hadn’t smoked out of a bong or pipe since college - mostly because either is difficult to clean, store, or transport. Still, the adjectives caught my attention. Session Goods describes its bong and pipe set as “designer” and “classy,” two words that are typically not associated with the accessories or, really, smoking in general. Items displayed in the item frame can turn 45° diagonally, with a total of 8 possibilities (90° and 4 possibilities if it is a map), and the frame outputs a redstone signal depending on the rotation phase that can be interpreted by a redstone comparator (note that this rotation value is separate from the clock or compass rotation). The displayed item can then be rotated by right-clicking the frame. Item frames can be placed on the lid of a shulker box that is positioned horizontally, but pop off when the lid is opened. Rotation When the item frame is displaying an item, pick block picks the displayed item instead of the item frame. Pick block may be used on item frames by players in creative mode only, the control has no effect for players in Survival or Adventure mode. This can be most notably seen on stairs or slabs. If the player places a block inside the frame, it is displayed in miniature half in, half out of the block. If an item in an item frame has been renamed using an anvil, it displays its custom name when the cursor is over the item frame. If this is done in the Nether, the green cursor spins around similar to the white cursor (players). If a map is placed in an item frame, it enlarges to show the map in the size of a full block, with the item frame's location displayed as a green pointer on the map, pointing in the direction the item frame is facing. Players can place items in the frame by using the item. It also allows non-solid blocks to occupy the same space. As item frames are an entity, multiple item frames can occupy the same block, although on different faces. To place on chests and doors, the player needs to be sneaking. They can also be placed on the top and bottom of these blocks. Item frames can be placed on the sides of cactus blocks, pressure plates, fences, trees, slabs, cobblestone walls, chests, doors, and all solid blocks. I believe house traits/student traits stack, so having two "Chosen of the Light" means +80% learniing speed for light magic.ģ: I think boredom is like sanity when either gets too low, the student tries to recover it in the appropriate room. You can then select what schools of magic they focus on studying. When you make a house, you choose two traits, these traits are applied to the students you put in the house. It seems that dungeons are pretty rare events (1-3 per school) so I wait until I have some decent mages before going in.Ģ: The houses are groups that grant extra bonuses for the students in them, it's like being put in House Gryffindor or House Hufflepuff. The shield/armor from light magic feels crazy strong and life leech from necromancy is pretty nifty for tanks since it helps them lifesteal while dealing good damage. Some form of healing/damage mitigation seems to be pretty important. The students you send should have a few abilities that are at least rank 2 or 3, otherwise they will get killed after the first few levels. (some enemies ignore this rule, like trolls)īefore the dungeon starts, you choose the spell that each student will be casting from what they have learned at school. If you got to this point, thank you for reading and please consider helping me out, this game looks quite interesting and the concept hits a sweet spot for me. So, could someone please enlighten me about the game and give me a few easy pointers and tell me if I just have a bugged tutorial that just went away or if there actually is just a lack of information. On top, everything feels a bit clunky to control, but that's probably just me (more specific menu controls) The timeline in my first game was about 50% and I did not have the feeling I was going anywhere, all students just had 1 skillpoint when their fate decided which made me in the end put the game down and question here In general: Where did the tutorial go? I was expecting a bit more explanation for a game of that complexity and without it is just frustrating I have no problem with loosing, but I would enjoy a more thorough explanation of game mechanics and specifics and know WHY I lost I got to the first combat in a dungeon and got no explanation what so ever which led to loosing. The tutorial are a few non interactive boxes right at the start but nothing more. So my five cents, and maybe some questions: Sadly, I do not seem to get into it and have a rough time trying to.
